Mark your calendars for the 2014 XTERRA French River Festival - June 28-9th, 2014!
Come join us in Oxford, MA (Oxford High School, 495 Main St) and participate in the inaugural XTERRA Triathlon on Sunday or one of the many events on Saturday, including; sprint distance triathlon (with kayak/SUP option) or duathlon, XTERRA Trail Run Series race, or kids off-road duathlon surrounded by a festival scene!
Saturday morning kicks off the French River Festival of events with a sprint distance off-road triathlon (swim or kayak/SUP option) or duathlon. After this race, trail runners will take on the XTERRA French River Trail Run course (18k and 8k options). To conclude the day, kids will take part in a kids off-road duathlon around the sports fields of Oxford High School.
Sunday will feature the XTERRA French River Triathlon. The 1/2 mile swim in Carbuncle Pond will start the day, followed by the single-loop 11 mile mountain bike course over a variety of terrain around and across the French River (primarily single track). The hilly and technical 5.5 mile single-loop trail run will test the most extreme trail runner.
Think the XTERRA French River Festival is all about racing? Think again. There will be tons of local vendors on site all weekend long to round out the “festival” like atmosphere and guarantees a good time for the whole family.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the French River Connection and the Oxford Recreation Commission.
